MEDIA RELEASE: Extra-Curricular Program (ECP) Term Two
It’s official – following the success of our hugely popular extra-curricular program (launched in 2016) we have decided to continue this fantastic, fun, educational, interactive and engaging program for the children.
The program runs for the length of the school term (24th April – 30th June) and in Term Two we will continue to run two activities per day (10 each week).
A huge thanks goes out to ALL of our amazing Little Learners specialist educators who are providing all of the extra-curricular activities and who have put together such an enriched, inclusive and diverse program.
The educators have each developed 10-week lesson plans, which are available in our front foyer for those wanting to know more.
As always the activities are for all ages, across all rooms (Babies, Toddler & Kindy) and are tailored to be age specific.
Each activity lasts 20 minutes making a combined total of 40 minutes per day per room.
It gives me great pleasure to announce three exciting changes to our ECP Term Two.
- We’ve added our fourth language: ‘Sinhalese’ thanks to Miss Avinka who is our ‘Sinhalese Cultural Specialist’.
- As you know at our Service we believe that it is imperative that the children learn more about our rich Aboriginal culture through shared learning in order to create mutual respect. So I’d like to introduce our ‘Noongar Specialist’ – Miss Jacinta her choosen theme for Term 2 is ‘Noongar Dreamtime Story Telling’.
- Miss Tahnee has decided to become our ‘Science Specalist’ and her Term 2 theme is the life cycle of animals
I’d also like to thank Miss Amy for introducing ‘Noongar Bush Tucker’ as her chosen Term Two theme as our Sustainability specialist.
Finally, I am pleased to say that ALL of the activities listed in the extra-curricular program timetable are included in the daily fee and none of them will incur an additional charge.
